We had arranged a half day tour of Pachacamac and the whole tour was done in a professional manner to accomodate the whole group. I recommend Aaron for trips in Lima

"My thanks to Aaron Leyton for his helpful, friendly, and professional interactions with me on some special-order books. Not only did he arrange for shipping to the US of some books from his catalog, he was able to obtain a copy the Muse Larco exhibition catalog in English. (A book that I would recommend to most big US and European museums as an example of how to put together a handsome and informative description of the artifacts in an exhibition.)" This was a great experience. He is a great guide, his knowledge of Peru's history, architecture, art and culture are awesome. He is perfectly biligual, professionnal, friendly, welcoming, nice and flexible. His tour goes beyond a tourist tour, je shares his love for his country. With the lunch at his home, visiting a super market, taking the public transportation, walking in the streets, he gave me a good understanding of the daily life in Lima. This was the best way to discover Lima. Thank you much Aaron

It was our first trip to Peru and we were glad that we had Aaron as our guide for an afternoon in Lima.  He picked us up at our hotel and took us to the historic central part of the city as well as Miraflores.  After our first hour with Aaron, it felt like we had been friends for awhile.  Aaron is very knowledgeable about the history, culture and cuisine of Peru.  He even took us to a grocery store to explain about Peruvian fruits and vegetables and let us sample chicha morada - a sweet drink made from purple corn.  In Miraflores, Aaron took us to a great seafood restaurant where we feasted on ceviche.  We highly recommend Aaron as your guide to Lima.  Rob and David

Excellent. In addition to your expertise, I appreciated your thoughtfulness, your personal touch and attention to detail…

As to Alex and Paul, I think both were fine. Although it is nice to have guides I think that with a little work you can bring yourself up to speed on the topics they discussed and could probably do it yourself if you so desired…and do it as well as they did if not better…

I think they were all fine…I guess in Lima I liked the Boulevard Hotel Miraflores, then Ruinas in Cusco and best of all, the El Alberque in Ollantaytambo for its beautiful view of the mountains.

Great! Thank you for going beyond tour duties and helping us out after we were stuck in the airport in Lima. Seriously, you got us the Boulevard Hotel at your rates again.

We loved all the hotels, but el alberque at ollantaytambo was beyond beautiful. The restaurant was wonderful, too. Juan had the best trout there. The ruinas in cusco was was also beautiful and in a great location. The boulevard was also especially nice because the rooms were actually suites with bar/sitting room. Very comfortable. For that reason, i would say we prefer the boulevard to the allpa, but again, all the hotels were great and in very good locations.

In lima, i would add the inca markets (not far from boulevard hotel). We found these artisan markets more valuable than the downtown indoor market we went to when we first arrived in lima (i forget the name, but it had mostly modern clothing, luggage, etc.)  Also in lima we would add el Baranco district. However, we actually would have traded a day in lima for another day in Cusco! We loved Cusco the most! Driving up to the sumaq, alpaca and then up to the ruins gave us a wonderful view of the city and let us see close up the history of the region.  We would have liked more time in the ruins at Ollantaytambo, such a beautiful place. But alex's tour was interesting. We also really enjoyed meeting the weavers in Chinchero. They were so kind, informative, interesting, and welcoming. The restaurants you suggested were all very, very good! And of course, the nightly happy-hour pisco sours were beyond fabulous! The buffet at that beautiful, large restaurant when we did the Valle Sagrado tour was very, very nice.  Thanks again, Aaron, for all your help and expertise!

Our guide was Aaron, I can say it was one of our best trips. He was in charge of everything from airline tickets, train tickets for our lunch and made sure our stay at the hotels were of good quality. The first day we were picked at the airport, he took us to his house to prepare a typical dish of Peru and teach us to do a good Pisco Sour. We went to great restaurants at night. He gave us the opportunity to meet Peru from a Peruvian vision which was very interesting. Gracias Aaron!!!... Nunca olvidaremos nuestro viaje al Peru !!!!! [Thanks Aaron !!!... We will never forget our trip to Peru !!!!!

This is an excellent way to go, particularly if you have not been to Lima before. Aaron called in advance to let me know he was waiting for me (brought me a bottle of water) and transported me to my hotel. In addition, he pointed-out many sites along the way. I would highly recommend this tour.

With less than a day's notice, Aaron was nimble and gracious to provide more than eight hours of varied experiences in Lima as well as transportation to and from the airport. Well chosen museums, Street and shop experiences as well as two excellent meals. We were exhausted, had a 14 hour layover in Lima and he turned this day into a smashing success. Excellently paced day, charming personality, agile.

Aaron gave us an excellent tour. He adjusted it to our needs and preferences. The meal at his mothers home was a wonderful insight into the local culture and very tasty also! We definitely would recommend Aaron and will contact toursbylocals for future travel.

Aaron and his family provided a wonderful experience, especially lunch by Mama. I would recommend his service to others.

Well, first of all, I want you to know how grateful I am for the good care you took of us and your extra efforts in dealing with Peruvian Airlines and, then, your help during the time after the tour had ended and the four of us stayed in Lima an extra couple of days.  It was a good feeling to know that we had a friend in Lima who we could turn to for help.  Thank you.

I felt that the tour you planned for us was a good balance of things to see our first time in Peru.  I felt like you were willing and able to adapt the original plan to meet our needs whenever you became aware of them, and this was important.  I am not a person who usually likes structured tours, but in this case, I found it enjoyable to learn about the sites we were visiting and I always felt that if I wanted to sit any part of it out, it was perfectly acceptable.  This was also important.  (However, I never really found myself wanting to sit out anything you had planned.)

My favorite hotel was the bed and breakfast in Ollantaytambo . . . the Albergue? . . . it was charming.  In future tours, when time permits, you might consider adding another day there just for rest and relaxation before heading off to Machu Picchu.  Of course, it depends on the group . . . but in my case, it would have been a perfect time for a relaxing day in a beautiful setting. Barranco, where we went on our own one day, was a great neighborhood, and had the advantage of running down to the beach.  Something to think about adding for groups who might have that interest.

Maybe you might want to think about providing tour groups with a list of museums in the neighborhood of the hotels in Lima, along with a description of what can be found there.  I was curious, but kept forgetting to ask you about that.  I wouldn't include it as part of the tour, but would make the information available for spare moments during the stay in Lima.

All in all, I was very happy with the trip you arranged for us.  Alex and Paul were great, especially Paul.  Thank you for making my first trip to Peru such a good experience.  I know that your business will flourish and that everything is going to turn out all right for you.
